These terms are the agreement between you and Gig-Mates Ltd about your use of gigmate.uk. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. About us
gigmate is run by Gig-Mates Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13955541), registered office 8 Hornby Park, Liverpool L18 3LL. Contact: info@gigmate.uk. References to “gigmate”, “we” and “us” mean Gig-Mates Ltd.
2. Who can use gigmate
You must be 18 or over to create a gigmate account. By signing up you confirm that you are. We may ask you to prove your age, and we will close any account that we believe belongs to someone under 18. You must also be able to enter into a binding contract.
3. What gigmate is
gigmate is a website that helps music fans find live gigs and connect with other fans who like the same music, so that people who would otherwise go alone can find company. It includes gig listings, Tribes (groups based on music taste) and messaging between members. gigmate is free to use.
We do not sell tickets and we do not organise gigs. Listings come from third parties such as ticket sellers. When you click through to buy a ticket, your purchase is a contract between you and that seller, and their terms apply. We may earn a commission from a seller when you buy through a link on gigmate. This does not change the price you pay.
4. Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep one account for yourself. Do not share your login or create accounts to get around a suspension.
- Keep your password secure and tell us straight away at info@gigmate.uk if you think someone else has used your account.
- Your nickname and profile must not impersonate anyone or break our Community Guidelines.
5. Gig information
We take care to keep gig listings accurate, but dates, times, line-ups, prices and availability can change and come from third parties. Always check details with the organiser or ticket seller before you buy or travel. We are not responsible for cancelled, rescheduled or sold-out events.
6. Meeting other members
gigmate helps you get in touch with other fans. It does not check who members are, and we cannot guarantee anyone’s identity, intentions or behaviour. You decide whether to talk to or meet anyone, and you are responsible for your own safety. Please read the Safety Guide in our Community Guidelines before you meet someone in person.
We are not responsible for what members do, either on gigmate or at events, or for the arrangements you make with other members. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for anything we cannot lawfully limit (see section 12).
7. Community Guidelines
Everything you post or send on gigmate must follow our Community Guidelines, which form part of these terms. In short: be respectful, do not harass or threaten anyone, do not post illegal, hateful or sexually explicit material, and do not use gigmate to spam, sell or resell tickets for profit, or collect other people’s details.
8. Your content
You own what you post. You give us a free, worldwide licence to host, display and share it on gigmate so that the service works (for example, showing your posts to Tribe members and your messages to the people you send them to). The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already shared it or we must keep it by law. You promise that you have the right to post what you post and that it does not break anyone else’s rights or the law.
9. Reports and enforcement
Members can report content or other members. We review reports and may remove content, give a warning, limit features such as messaging, suspend or close an account. We act on serious reports first, and where someone may be at risk we may share information with the police or other authorities. We will usually tell you what we have done and why, and you can ask us to review a decision by emailing info@gigmate.uk.
10. Our service
We try to keep gigmate available and working, but we cannot promise it will always be free of faults or interruptions. We may change, pause or withdraw features. We may also carry out maintenance without notice.
11. Intellectual property
gigmate, its logo, design, software and the way gig data is arranged belong to Gig-Mates Ltd or our licensors. You may use gigmate for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not copy, scrape, resell or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product, without our written permission.
12. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or our failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for events outside our control, for the conduct of members or third parties, or for loss of profit or business (you use gigmate for personal purposes only).
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your settings or by emailing info@gigmate.uk. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or our Community Guidelines, or if we need to for legal or safety reasons. If an account is inactive for 24 months we may delete it after warning you by email.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features or legal changes. For important changes we will tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. If you keep using gigmate after the change takes effect you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
15. Complaints and contact
If you have a problem or complaint, email info@gigmate.uk and we will aim to reply within 5 working days.
16. Other things you should know
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring a claim in your local courts. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal information.
